ABS Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, millions of people (the majority of whom are Black and poor) along the Gulf Coast are suffering from the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina (left homeless without critical necessities of life) and are desperately in need of assistance of every imaginable kind. Simply put, both the pre-and post-Katrina hurricane damage will take billions to repair. In response to this human catastrophic disaster, and in keeping with our mission and commitment to our communities, the Association of Black Sociologists (ABS) is raising funds by asking all ABS members and other interested parties to contribute to a special fund. Our plan is to assist African American students from New Orleans HBCUs: Xavier, Dillard, and Southern Universities who are attempting to recover from the massive storm. Please help meet this enormous need and challenge now with your donation. You may use a credit card and make your donation here on our website or you can mail a check to: Association of Black Sociologists, 4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW PMB 106-257, Washington, D.C. 20016. Note: On all checks, please indicate in the memo section of your check that it is a donation for the "ABS Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund."

Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.
